Today is World Communion Sunday.

We will receive the Peace and Global Witness offering this morning. 25% of this offering will be used in our community and 25% in our regions for ministries of peacemaking and reconciliation. The other 50% will be used for peacemaking efforts around the globe. Please make your checks payable to First Presbyterian Church with “peace offering” on the memo line.

Pastor Joe is leading a study on Adam Hamilton’s Christianity and World Religions for six weeks.  The third class will be held on Thursday, October 11th, at 10:30 am or 7:00 pm in the Loy Building.

Today we begin our collection for the Parasite Prevention Project. 44 cents, which is less than the cost of a postage stamp, will cure a child for an entire year! The Witness Committee has set a goal of curing 1000 children (that’s only $440). Can we do it? Please put your contributions in the clean water pail in the Narthex and watch our total grow each week. Please make checks payable to First Presbyterian with “parasite prevention” on the memo line.

Consecration Sunday is next Sunday, October 14th! Join us for breakfast at 9:30 am in the Loy Building. Place your reservation for breakfast by placing the reservation card in the offering plate or calling the church office by October 11th. Rev. Randy Hall of Lexington, NC will be our guest minister.

The Youth will meet at Angel’s Closet on Sunday, Oct. 14th, 6:00-7:00 pm. To put together shoes for the church’s shoe drive for Doug Hayes. Everyone is welcome to come help!

Join us for Trunk or Treat on October 31st in the Parking Lot! Dress-up, decorate the trunk of your vehicle, and grab lots of candy to give out!
